We offer a free 24-hour airport pickup service to our new international students, as well as assistance with temporary accommodation.
This service is available to new students studying at UWA for the first time. If you would like to organise a pickup service or require assistance with temporary accommodation, complete the online application. Returning students are not eligible for this service.
All international flights arrive at Terminal 1 at Perth Airport. Terminal 1 is located some distance from domestic Terminals 2, 3 and 4, and is approximately 30 minutes by car from Perth city.
Please carry a copy of your Airport Pickup confirmation email with your travel documents. Once you have retrieved your baggage and cleared Customs, you can wait for the University driver at the:
- TravelEx Exchange Kiosk in the International Terminal or
- The luggage carousel in the Domestic Terminal.
The driver will be holding a sign saying 'UWA - The University of Western Australia'. If you are delayed on arrival, please inform an airport official that a driver is waiting for you. The driver will wait for approximately 1.5 hours for students arriving at the International airport to give you time to proceed through Customs.
Applications for the free airport pickup service for new international students need to be made at least seven days before your departure. You may request assistance with temporary accommodation at the same time.
If your flights change, you may change your existing booking details online up to 72 hours before your arrival. No changes can be made online within 72 hours of your arrival.
