Why study the UWAFP?

Guaranteed place at UWA

As a UWAFP student, you receive an offer of a place in the UWA undergraduate course of your choice. All you need to do is achieve the necessary grades and meet any additional selection criteria prescribed by UWA (with the exception of degree programs which have a quota).

Program designed by UWA

The combined educational expertise of UWA and Taylors College has created this foundation program, giving you the perfect academic stepping stone into university-level studies.

Study on a university campus

The program is based at UWA's Claremont campus, just three kilometres from the main university campus. This enables you to benefit from regular visits and close interaction with key staff at the University.

Access to UWA facilities

You'll have access to the main library at UWA and will be eligible to become a member of the UWA Student Guild, so you can join clubs and societies to meet other UWA students.

Expert academic staff

Taylors College Perth staff are experts in their fields and in teaching international students. Their skills and experience allow you to excel in your studies. You will benefit from a variety of teaching methods including lectures, tutorials, group work and presentations. All subjects are supported by reference texts, handbooks and software packages.

Smooth transition to university

The delivery method encourages you to adapt easily to the Australian tertiary academic system. Classes are in small groups, augmented by university-style lectures and individual timetabled tutorials. You will learn how to study independently, work in groups, become a leader, conduct research and deliver presentations – all necessary skills for success at university.

Choice of programs

Taylors College Perth offers a range of start dates and programs to suit your academic level and university ambitions. As the foundation program is not streamed into specific disciplines, you can select the units that interest you and apply for any related degree at UWA. Study the program that suits you best and provides the most effective pathway to your chosen field.

Best support

Pre-university students have different needs from other students, and Taylors College has been caring for students for almost 90 years.

One world in a college

With students from more than 36 countries, the program offers a multicultural study environment. You'll enjoy studying and living with friends from around the world, and take a wealth of experience and cultural understanding with you to university and beyond.

History of success

Every year, almost all our students are offered a tertiary place. The admissions policy stipulates that Taylors College Perth will only accept a student’s application if past results indicate they are able to pass the program. The academic and personal support systems in place ensure that every student has the best opportunity to achieve his or her goals.
